Be Prepared for Donald Trump's Election Lies

Election Day is on Tuesday. We likely won’t know the winner of the Presidential Election on Election Night, but that won’t stop Donald Trump from declaring victory. Even if he loses, just like last time, he is going to lie about massive voter fraud and will not concede the election.

He is going to do everything he possibly can to try and overturn the election. For the safety of American democracy, we all need to be prepared for Donald's election lies.

This time, his attempts to overturn the election could focus more on Pennsylvania. Remember, with 19 electoral votes, Pennsylvania is the biggest swing state by far. 

One important thing to remember is that Pennsylvania does not have pre-canvassing, meaning election officials can’t start counting mail in ballots until Election Day. 

The process of counting all of these ballots can take some time. Remember, in 2020, PA was the last state called. While we generally knew Biden would win a day or two later, Pennsylvania wasn’t officially called until Saturday Nov. 7. 

During the days in between Election Day and when the race is officially called, Donald is going to do everything he possibly can to spread lies and sew chaos. 

That’s exactly what happened last time. Before the election, he lied about mail in ballot fraud so that he could later call the mail in ballot tallies “illegal voter dumps”. He lied about them being from China, undocumented immigrants, or democrats stealing the election. He said "stop the count" and "stop the steal" when he was really talking about preventing OUR ballots from being counted. 

That’s what he did last time. And he’s going to do it again. And when that doesn’t work, he’s going to keep going. He won’t concede if he loses. He will lie his ass off and come up with fake excuses and bull shit rationale. 

Last time, he lied about massive numbers of dead people voting. He also lied saying there were “MORE VOTES THAN ACTUAL VOTERS” in Philadelphia. That is physically impossible. Voter registration rolls are routinely cleaned. People can’t vote if they aren’t registered. And people can’t vote more than once. 

He posted a fake graphic from PA-R State Sen. Doug Mastriano falsely claiming more mail-in ballots were counted than had been sent out. And he spread a lie that a truck driver drove ballots from New York to be submitted in Pennsylvania. These are also impossible. Every single mail-in ballot in PA comes with a unique barcode for tracking that cannot be copied.

He tried to implement a slate of fake electors to send to the electoral college to vote for him. 

And he took legal action. Lots of legal action. And he lost. A lot. For example, he asked the Supreme Court to overturn the election results in PA. He lost that case. And every other case too.

His campaign had 63 court cases regarding election fraud. He lost 62 of them. Even audit after audit found no evidence of massive voter fraud. 

This man is a loser. No ifs ands or buts.

But he can’t accept that. And if he loses again, he won't accept that either.

We're already seeing this again. He's been spreading these same lies this entire time in preparation for this moment.

He spreads lies about voting machines. He says we can’t trust them and we need paper ballots. But the voting machines are not connected to the internet, so they can’t be hacked. And even then, they do keep a paper copy of every ballot. 

He says we need voter ID. But in PA, everyone needs to show a valid government photo ID the first time they go to a polling location. 

Republicans blocked early voting and extending voter registration and mail in ballot application deadlines in PA. They purposefully make it harder for us to vote so they can claim fraud and, for example, sue Bucks County for long election lines the week before the election. 

At the same time, they were in court trying to block people with a contested mail in ballot from being able to get a provisional ballot in person on Election Day. Thankfully, a judge ruled denied their request.

When Lancaster County announced it was reviewing a batch of voter registrations, Donald lied claiming it was fraud and they were cheating with fake ballots.  He also spread similar lies about fraud in York County, when really these are both examples of how our elections are safe and secure. These lies flood our local elections offices with conspiracies, overwhelming election workers.

A fake video from Russia went viral on social media pretending to show election officials in Bucks County ripping up mail in ballots for Donald. It was even shared by Elon Musk, who has the most followers on his social media site X.

And when all of that doesn’t work, he’s going to take it even further. 

Last time, he subjected local elections officials, our friends and neighbors, to threats and harassment. Two of his supporters from Virginia were convicted after they drove to the Philadelphia Convention Center, while officials were there counting votes, with guns and over 160 rounds of ammunition.

13 people were charged for a domestic terrorist plot to kidnap the Democratic Governor of Michigan, Gretchen Whitmer, and start a civil war.

Donald Trump was charged with crimes for trying to overturn the election in Georgia because he asked their Secretary of State to find 11,000 votes for him to win the state. 

And when all else failed, in a desperate cling for power and to deny the results of our free and fair democratic election, he sent a violent mob to attack the U.S. Capitol and disrupt the certification of the election.

For his role in trying to overturn the election, he was charged with federal felonies by the United States Department of Justice. Over 100 police officers were injured and over 1,000 rioters were arrested that day, and he wants to prioritize pardoning insurrectionists. 

That’s what he did last time. 

This time, Donald is spreading even more lies. He lies about millions of undocumented immigrants voting in the election, using racism and anti-immigration sentiment to feed into his conspiracies.  

Only U.S. citizens can vote in U.S. elections. For starters, in PA, you need to provide a full social security number or drivers license number just to register to vote. And only U.S. citizens can get a social security number or driver's license.

He is only going to ramp up the racist rhetoric and, like his lies about immigrants eating pets in Springfield, IL, his promotion of racialized violence. 

This was their plan all along. Sew chaos and spread lies to call foul. But hopefully on Tuesday, we can defeat this chaos once and for all. 

Before you believe an election conspiracy, remember our elections are run independently by thousands of local elections offices, tens of thousands of volunteers, and overseen by each of the 50 states. 

Voter fraud is extremely rare in the United States. Someone is more likely to get struck by lightning than commit voter fraud. So, while it does happen, it has never came anywhere remotely close to impacting the outcome of an election. Our elections are safe and secure.

Verify your sources. Keep an eye out for misinformation. Let the process take its course. And don't fall for the bull shit.
